The 3rd Dyens’Memory guitar training program will take place during three days, in the framework of the Roland Dyens in the Skaï Festival, on October 7, 8 and 9, 2022 at the Théâtre Thénardier in Montreuil (93100), in France ! During these 3 intensive but no less enjoyable days, the students will work on Four Moods and Coda, a composition by Roland Dyens for guitar ensemble, and will enjoy private lessons and improvisation workshops. On Sunday, October 9, the students will play a concert as part of the Roland Dyens in the skaï Festival.

4 Moods and Coda – Productions d’Oz 2014
Four Mood and coda was commissioned for the New England Guitar Ensembles Festival organized by the Boston Classical Guitar Society.
It was premiered in Boston on April 26, 2014 by thirty guitarists under the direction of composer Roland Dyens and it is dedicated to Daniel Acsadi and the Boston Classical Guitar Society

TRAINING OBJECTIVES :
To develop the tools necessary for the collective practice of guitarists by :
- listening, intonation, transitions, relays, breathing and observation
- work on the sound, the colors, the timbres, the dynamics
- accentuation and control of attacks
- collective reflection around a common project
The training will be finalized by the performance of the trainees in front of a « real audience » at the Théâtre Thénardier, on Sunday, October 9, 2022 at 4:00 pm as part of the Roland Dyens in the skaï Festival.
An evaluation of the training will be done in the form of a questionnaire given to each internship as well and by a convivial discussion organized the day before the concert.
THE LITTLE STORY: What did Roland Dyens say about the ensemble music ?
« I was a bit dubious about guitar ensemble music because what I had heard of it did not suit me, did not convince me, did not seduce me, because it was a rough transcription. And then I got caught up in the game and I said to myself: if with a guitar ensemble you don’t stop and emphasize the colors, the timbres, the sound planes, then you’re really missing something. And there I got caught up in the game {…} of ensemble music because it’s not just about the sound, it’s about the human experience. I like that. I’m going to be up against guitarists and it’s going to be an adventure, a journey together, we’re going to build this together. »

WORKSHOPS :
- Collective practice :
Grouped together in ensemble music, or in desk, students will work with Laurent Blanquart et Orestis Kalampalikis, the music for guitar ensemble by Roland Dyens: 4 Moods and Coda.
The scores will be sent to the trainees by email before the training program.
- Individual Courses or chamber music :
1 cours per student
Students will be able to work on music of their choice (to be specified at the time of registration) with their teachers, in individual lessons or in chamber music groups.
For the students who choose the chamber music practice, we can put them in contact according to their level and musical tastes before the training.
- Improvisation (optional) – with Orestis Kalampalikis

The main goal of this workshop is to introduce students to improvisation with relevant and simple forms, prioritizing the work on fundamentals : intention, move, expression, repetition and variation. Thanks to his formation with Roland Dyens, Orestis Kalampalikis will guide students through this exercise.
REQUIERED LEVEL :
This training program is intended for professional guitarists or students at the end of cycle 2 or beginning of cycle 3 minimum, or for non-professionals of the same level. The acceptance of the students will be confirmed after study of their registration form by the teachers.

The price of the training action is fixed at 310€ including all taxes for October 7, 8 and 9, 2022. This price includes the membership to the Locomotive des Arts (10€), the pedagogical training, the meals on Friday, Saturday and Sunday lunch. A ticket for the Capricornes Trio concert (Jean-Marc Zvellenreuther, Laurent Blanquart and Orestis Kalampalikis) on Saturday, October 8 at 8:30 pm is offered to all students who will also benefit from the reduced rate on all the other concerts of the Roland Dyens in the skaï Festival.
